American Specialty Health values its customers and respects their privacy. We recognize that we must maintain and use customer information responsibly. We do not sell or rent the information you provide to us online to third parties.

This policy describes the personal information we collect about you, why we collect it, and how we use it. Our policy also describes the choices you can make about how we collect and use your information. In most areas of this Web site, the submission of personal information is optional. When registering, certain personal information is required. If you choose not to provide any required personal information, that area of the Web site will not function. Our staff will respond to written correspondence within 10 business days.

What kind of information does ASH Benefits collect?

American Specialty Health collects information such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, and/or telephone number when registering or communicating with us.

When brokers generate a proposal on ASH Benefits, we will also ask for the type of program requested, the group name, total number of employees, the state in which the group resides and the desired effective date.

ASH Benefits also requires users to submit their Healthyroads user name and password when merging their Healthyroads and ASH Benefits accounts in the "Profile" section.

Only those staff members who need access to the information you submit have this information available to them. American Specialty Health enforces strict privacy, security, and confidentiality policies on this Web site as well as with our staff in order to maintain privacy.

How does ASH Benefits use my information?

Users who contact ASH through our "Contact Us" form who have requested a response will be contacted using the contact information they provided. American Specialty Health will not use information provided online for other purposes, and we do not sell or rent the information you provide online to third parties. Information entered in the "Generate Proposal" section of the site will be used solely for the purpose of generating a proposal. Users may also check the status of a proposal by accessing the "Proposal Status" link in the right-hand side menu.

Healthyroads user names and passwords are used for the sole purpose of linking their Healthyroads and ASH Benefits accounts in the "Profile" section.

Does American Specialty Health share my information with third parties?

American Specialty Health does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. ASH may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, traffic patterns, and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information. ASH may release account information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements or (iii) protect the rights, property or safety of American Specialty Health, our users, or others.

How do I change my information?

If at any time you would like us to update your personal information or remove you from our e-mail or postal mailing lists, feel free to contact us. Please be sure to include your e-mail address and full name.

On ASH Benefits, once you link your Healthyroads and ASH Benefits accounts in the "Profile" section, you may follow the links on Healthyroads to update your account information.

How do I remove my information from e-mail, phone and postal mailing lists?

We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you prefer not to receive information from us, either through e-mail, postal mail or by phone, please let us know by sending us an e-mail or by calling. Please note that such requests may take up to 2-4 weeks to become effective. In addition, if you ask us to remove your name and address from our e-mail or postal mailing lists, we will maintain your name in a "do not mail" file to ensure that we can honor your request.

How does ASH Benefits protect kids' privacy?

Like you, we at American Specialty Health are concerned about the safety of children when they use the Internet.

If we become aware that a subscriber is under the age of 13 and has registered without prior verifiable parental consent, we will remove his or her personally identifiable registration information from our files.

What are cookies? How does ASH Benefits use cookies on its site?

A cookie may contain information (such as a unique user ID) that is used to track the pages of the sites you've visited. ASH Benefits uses cookies but we do not store personally identifiable information in your cookie.

Your personally identifiable information is secured in an isolated database with tightly restricted access. The limited number of employees authorized to view this information is authenticated prior to gaining such access.

Does American Specialty Health have an advertising policy?

Yes. American Specialty Health does not allow third-party advertising on our sites.

American Specialty Health Web sites do not link to third-party sites, except to verify our participation in programs that protect your privacy and security. No personally identifiable or personal health information is shared with these sites.

Users who wish to link their ASH Benefits and Healthyroads accounts are able to link to the Healthyroads Web site directly from the ASH Benefits site.
